WHAT DIVISIONS DOES DCLL OFFER?

It's that time again!   We are currently accepting registrations for the upcoming spring baseball season.  Please take a moment to review our division overviews, as some divisions have changed!

Our youngest divisions (T-Ball and Hybrid) will be internal divisions only and will not be part of the Little League system.  Our our oldest division (13-16) is beyond the age range of Little League and will be participating in our local York County Baseball league.  All other divisions will be participating in PA District 14 Little League.

Our division offerings for the Spring 2020 season are as follows. Please note major changes in RED.  League age for all divisions is age as of September 1, 2020 unless otherwise noted.

T-Ball:  Our T-Ball division is an internal division for our youngest players.  T-Ball is a non-competitive division serving as an introduction to baseball and focusing on fundamentals.   Unlike previous seasons, this season T-Ball will play on a modified, smaller field and will not include coach pitch.  There are no evaluations for this division, players are assigned randomly to teams.

Hybrid: Our hybrid division is new for the 2020 season, replacing our coach pitch division.  This division is a hybrid between player pitch and t-ball.  Batters will face player pitch until the count reaches 4 balls, then will finish the at bat on a tee.  At bats will end on a batted ball or strikeout only, there will be no walks.  Players should register for the hybrid division if they have previously played t-ball, possess basic baseball fundamentals, and can throw and catch.  There will be evaluations for this division, teams will be allocated by the league utilizing all evaluated players not selected in the AA draft.

AA (Little League):  This division is 100% player pitch.  Teams will follow modified Little League Minors division rules (Clarence Boyd rules as adopted by our local Little League district administration).   Players should register for the AA division if they have previously completed a coach/hybrid pitch division, can consistently throw and catch, and can consistently hit a thrown ball.  There will be evaluations for this division, teams will be drafted by coaches utilizing the top 24-36 players not selected in the AAA draft.

AAA (Little League): This division is 100% player pitch.  Teams will follow full Little League rules.  Players should register for the AAA division if they have previously completed a player pitch division, can consistently throw and catch, can consistently hit a player thrown ball, and possess solid baseball fundamentals.  There will be evaluations for this division.  The top 24-48 players not selected in the Majors draft will be drafted by coaches in the AAA National league, remaining players who are identified by the league as possessing requisite skills will be drafted by coaches into the AAA American division.

Majors (Little League): This is our most competitive division.  Players from our Majors division compose our International team, which is the age group that plays each summer in Williamsport.  Teams will follow full Little League rules.  There will be evaluations for this division.

Intermediate (Little League): This division is one of only two Little League division not played on a standard 60' field.  Instead, Intermediate teams play on a 50/70 field.  This division is for players who have graduated f preparing to transition to 90' bases in upper age groups.

Junior (Little League)The Junior division is new for this year.  This division will play on a full-size, 90' field.  Games will begin in mid-April and run only through mid-May, allowing players to also play tournament ball as well as on the York County 13-16 team if desired.

York County 13-16: This team will play in the York County Baseball league.  Teams play using YCB/PIAA rules on a 90' field.  Availability for this team is pending final registration numbers. (Age for this league is based on age as of 5/1/20)

-------------------------------------------------
Please note that the division you are registering for may not necessarily be the division your child is assigned to.  Division selected during registration will be used to determine approximate number of teams and coaches required, but will not be finalized until after the evaluation process.  In an effort to provide the best experience possible for our players, final placement will be based on skills and not necessarily age.  Your child may be assigned to a division higher or lower than their registered division.

Also be aware that due to new Little League reporting procedures, the registration form will now include proof of residency.  Proof of residency is not required to complete registration, but documentation must be provided if requested by Little League so we ask that all parents upload the appropriate documentation at registration so the league has it on file.   Click HERE for more info!
